Job Title: Civil Estimator
Job Location: Columbia, SC
Salary: $90K-$120K
Requirements: 8+ Years of civil estimating experience. Experience estimating underground utilities and site development projects.
Position Overview:
The Civil Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for civil engineering projects. This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and scope of work to determine the necessary resources and costs, ensuring competitive and profitable bidding for the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather relevant project information and clarify any discrepancies.
- Identify and quantify labor, material, and time requirements for project completion.
- Utilize estimation software such as HCSS, B2W, and AGTEK for precise calculations and project tracking.
- Prepare and submit detailed bid proposals, including cost breakdowns and justifications.
- Monitor ongoing projects to ensure estimates are aligned with actual costs and adjust future estimates as needed.
- Stay current with market trends, materials costs, and industry standards to inform accurate pricing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience as a civil estimator in construction or engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction processes including site preparation, mass excavation, and utilities.
- Familiarity with mining operations is a plus.
- Proficient in estimation software such as HCSS, B2W, and AGTEK.
