Associate Attorney – Civil Litigation (Wilmington, NC)

A respected civil litigation firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 2–4 years of experience to join its Wilmington office. This is a great opportunity for an attorney who thrives in a collaborative environment and values meaningful client relationships.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will handle a broad range of civil litigation matters, working closely with experienced attorneys on complex cases in both state and federal court. You’ll be part of a team that values professional growth, teamwork, and quality advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and briefs

  • Conduct and defend depositions, including preparation of clients and expert witnesses

  • Manage written discovery and assess responses

  • Provide exceptional written and verbal communication to clients

  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations

  • Prepare for trial, including strategy, witness prep, exhibits, and motions in limine

  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective case management and results

Qualifications:

  • 2–4 years of civil litigation experience

  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills

  • Strong organizational and case management abilities

  • Team-oriented mindset and proactive work ethic

  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina
