Job Summary

We are seeking a highly passionate and knowledgeable Classic Car Salesperson to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for vintage and collectible automobiles, an expert understanding of vehicle history, and a proven track record in luxury or specialized sales. This role involves assisting clients in the buying and selling of classic cars, building lasting relationships with enthusiasts, and contributing to the growth of our specialized market.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer engagement: Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with clients who are classic car enthusiasts and serious collectors.
  • Client consultation: Greet and assist customers in the showroom and on the sales lot, actively listening to their needs and preferences to match them with the right vehicle.
  • Expert vehicle knowledge: Provide detailed and accurate information on classic cars, including their history, authenticity, restoration specifics, features, and performance capabilities.
  • Sales process management: Guide clients through the entire sales process, from initial inquiry and test drives to finalizing paperwork and coordinating with the finance department.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate and close sales effectively, ensuring both a satisfactory customer experience and a profitable outcome for the dealership.
  • Inventory management: Stay informed on new arrivals and manage the consignment process for clients looking to sell their classic cars.
  • Market research: Research market trends and assess the value of classic cars to ensure competitive pricing and accurate representation.
  • Networking and outreach: Represent the dealership at car shows, auctions, and other industry events to promote services and build brand awareness.
  • Administrative duties: Complete all necessary sales paperwork and maintain the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database with accurate client information.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience in sales, preferably within the automotive, luxury goods, or specialty retail market. Experience selling classic, exotic, or collector cars is highly preferred.
  • Product knowledge: An expert-level knowledge of classic car history, makes, and models.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport and clearly explain technical details to clients with varying levels of expertise.
  • Customer service: A commitment to providing an outstanding customer experience with professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm.
  • Negotiation skills: Strong negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to overcome objections.
  • Computer skills: Basic IT proficiency, including experience with CRM systems and other dealership software.
  • Licensing: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
