About the Role

White Plains Hospital, a member of the Montefiore Health System, is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Coordinator to oversee Controlled Substance and Sterile Products operations. Reporting to the Director or Assistant Director of Pharmacy Services, this role ensures compliance, quality, and efficiency in sterile product preparation and controlled substance management.

The Coordinator will collaborate closely with pharmacy and nursing teams to maintain regulatory compliance, implement quality assurance initiatives, and provide clinical guidance to optimize patient safety and outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the IV room and CII safe, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures for sterile and controlled substance management.
  • Supervise IV pharmacists and assist with aseptic preparation, quality assurance, and environmental control standards.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective medication practices.
  • Lead initiatives for opioid stewardship and drug diversion prevention programs.
  • Manage Cancer Center Pharmacy operations in the absence of the department manager.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate staff to maintain clinical and operational excellence.
  • Support hospital-wide quality and performance improvement programs.


Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a minimum of a BS in Pharmacy.
  • Current New York Pharmacy License and registration required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent experience as a hospital pharmacist in an acute care setting.
  • 2–3 years of sterile products management or leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage compliance with Joint Commission, state, and federal standards.
