Park Slope Center for Mental Health is a community based outpatient mental health clinic regulated by the NYS Office of Mental Health. Our agency has been in existence for 24 years and serves clients throughout Brooklyn and the five boroughs. We provide individual, family and group therapy, and psychiatry to clients of all ages.

The Clinical Supervisor provides weekly individual and group supervision to Masters Level therapists. Clinical Supervision plays a vital role in our program: helping therapists to grow and develop their skills, and ensuring that we are providing the highest quality of care. The Clinical Supervisor also carries a small caseload of clients who are seen for weekly psychotherapy.

We are looking for candidates who are committed to community mental health, including working with diverse populations and diagnoses, who are looking for a supportive, collaborative and educational environment, and who are interested in making a commitment to our agency and our mission to help clients explore, build and strengthen their lives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • LCSW required
  • Experience providing psychotherapy to clients with mental health disorders
  • Commitment to community mental health and to providing affirming care to clients with diverse identities and clinical needs
  • Previous experience in providing clinical supervision to staff or interns
  • Strong engagement, assessment and diagnostic skills, knowledge of DSM 5
  • Demonstrated experience with comprehensive risk and suicide assessment, crisis intervention, and safety planning.
  • Some evening hours required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Clinical Supervisor provides individual and group supervision and on-site support to clinical staff, including clinical oversight of assigned cases as well as administrative task supervision
  • Motivates and supports staff to maintain high levels of performance in accordance with agency policies, procedures and regulations
  • Maintains high ethical standards at all time
  • Provides weekly therapy to a small caseload of clients including children and adults
  • Provides oversight, consultation and direct assistance in risk assessment and crisis intervention, including referrals to emergency services and state central registry reports
  • Participates in case conferences and clinical team meetings to ensure quality of care
