Volt is hiring for an CNC Machinist for a company located in Houston, TX.
As a CNC Machinist you will:
Set up and operate CNC machines, such as lathes and mills, to cut, shape, or form metal work pieces to specifications, by performing the duties/responsibilities indicated below:
- Perform general machine shop math and calculations
- Read measuring devices such as scales and calipers
- Demonstrate skills needed to machine fabricated parts in large sizes
- Knowledgeable in Satellite and Weld engineering
- Ability to read, comprehend and understand machine drawings
- Able to maintain print tolerances down to .001”
- Safely and competently operate overhead crane
- Work with minimal assistance
- Communicate with supervisors and fellow operators
- Clean and organize work area
- Follow and comply with all Safety Rules and Procedures
- Report any near-misses, incidents and possible hazards
- Maintain and use all issued personal protective equipment
- Other duties as assigned
This is a Full-Time Direct Hire opportunity
The ideal candidate will have:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
- Experience working with or using one or more of the following tools: Toshiba VTL, Satellite, Weld mounting, lathe, milling machine, drill press, vertical and horizontal boring mills and surface grinders for large part items.
- Must be available to work overtime when required.
Schedule: Monday-Friday
- 2nd shift: Starting at 6:00 PM
- Training will be on a 1st shift for 2+ weeks before moving to 2nd shift
Pay Rate: $30.00 to $36.00 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
