- Develop CNC programs based on engineering drawings, sketches, and design data, selecting appropriate cutting tools, machining strategies, and parameters.
- Model cutting paths using MasterCAM and generate machine code to control tool movements.
- Adjust machine paths and settings to optimize production while maintaining quality standards.
- Determine reference points, cutting directions, and the sequence of operations for parts.
- Compute dimensions, radii, and curvatures; create instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide machine setup.
- Collaborate with machine operators to ensure accurate and efficient execution of programs.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and productivity improvement.
- Troubleshoot mechanical or logistical issues as they arise.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- 3-5 years of CNC programming experience or equivalent combination of education and training
- Proficiency in MasterCAM software
- Strong attention to detail and precision
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and process documentation
- Skilled at troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Ability to work independently while following detailed instructions
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
