Description

The Construction Risk Manager is responsible for managing the commercial and builder residential inspection and funding process. Must have expertise in various type of construction lending including processes and procedures and must be comfortable in making sound decisions related to funding and loss prevention.

  • Manages other Construction Risk Department staff
  • Oversees the inspection and funding for Commercial and Builder Residential loans
  • Reviews Construction loan documentation prior to closing to ensure requirements are met and project files are created accordingly for monitoring purposes during the construction process
  • Verifies that all required documentation is received, correct and properly executed for each draw request, including updated budgets, draw request forms, inspections and other documentation required for approval for funding
  • Ensures construction projects are on track and notifies bank management of issues or concern
  • Conducts pre-construction meetings with loan officers, customers, and inspectors to explain the draw process and documentation requirements
  • Manages high volume of workflow for complex projects
  • Manages approved inspector list for commercial and residential and responsible for vetting and establishing vendor relationships
  • Has direct oversight of policy and procedures associated with construction risk
  • Prepares quarterly reporting for Director's Credit Committee

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting preferred
  • 7-10 years experience in residential construction, mortgage banking operations and administration, and/or commercial real estate
  • Must have experience in construction lending, documentation requirements and review, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge base required in making sound risk decisions. Must be able to communicate across many internal and external business groups. This individual must have a strong attention to detail
  • Experience in "Built" software a plus

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Word; basic keyboarding and calculator skills; must be able to do simple math and carry out written instructions
  • Work may occasionally require more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential function of the job
  • Office setting with lifting up to 30lbs
