Job Description

As a key member of the management team you will use your knowledge of Accounting and experience supervising an accounting team to direct and coordinate development and production activities of accounting, financial planning and analysis, including interaction with the board of directors and senior management team. What you will do Oversee general accounting activities including the preparation of profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and general accounting activities of assets, liabilities, income, expense and capital accounts Lead the accounting team to ensure a timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close Direct the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue distribution and depreciation Develop policies, procedures, and internal controls related to financial management and accounting to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, and state and federal regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley Manage performance of annual audit including timely and accurate preparation of audit schedules. Coordinate annual tax filings and is the primary liaison with CPA firm Investigate, select, recommend, and implement an enterprise wide solution and/or IT systems and budget planning tool to meet the needs of the business. Prepare reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations Direct preparation of budgets, review budget proposals, and prepare necessary supporting documentation and justification Provide management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies Establish relations with banks and other financial institutions to manage cash flow Qualifications Needed A Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent, plus 8-10 or more years of financial accounting and operational management with increasing levels of responsibility. Strong management, interpersonal, and analytical skills are essential with the ability to be hands on yet think long term and strategically Knowledge and experience with enterprise resource planning and systems implementation is required. Hands-on experience updating and transitioning systems is desired. Knowledge of Accounting software, database software, spreadsheet software, Microsoft Office, order processing and Human Resource systems. CRM and report writing experience preferred. Minimum $125,000 - Maximum $150,000 per year The base range above represents the low and high end of the JEOL salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition, JEOL provides a variety of benefits to eligible employees including health and dental insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a 401K plan with company match and contribution, tuition reimbursement, paid holidays, paid sick time, and paid vacation.
