Controls Engineer
Location: Onsite in Portage, IN
Salary: $80-130k DOE
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for industrial automation projects. This role requires a strong understanding of various control technologies and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement control systems for industrial automation projects.
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.
- Develop and optimize robotics applications for manufacturing processes.
- Conduct control system design reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with maintenance staff to develop and implement Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system diagrams and specifications.
- Support SCADA system integration and management.
- Utilize CAD and AutoCAD Electrical for system designs and layouts.
- Implement motion control systems in various applications.
- Provide technical support and training to production staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in controls engineering, industrial automation, or integration.
- Strong proficiency in PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting, particularly with Siemens and Allen Bradley.
- Experience with VFD, SCADA and robotics.
- Knowledge of AC/DC circuits and motion control systems.
- Proficient in CAD and AutoCAD Electrical design tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
