Controls Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking a Controls Engineer with hands-on experience in Rockwell Automation platforms, including Allen-Bradley PLCs and FactoryTalk View HMIs. This role involves designing, programming, and commissioning control systems for industrial clients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working in both office and field environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop PLC and HMI applications using Rockwell Automation tools (Studio 5000, RSLogix 5000, FactoryTalk View SE/ME)
  • Support full project lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, programming, testing, and commissioning
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing control systems in manufacturing and industrial environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical designers, project managers, and field technicians
  • Create and maintain technical documentation such as control narratives, I/O lists, and test plans
  • Provide on-site support during system installation and startup
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering
  • Proficiency with Rockwell Automation platforms (Allen-Bradley PLCs, FactoryTalk View)
  • Experience with control panel design, instrumentation, and field wiring
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&IDs
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
  • Willingness to travel locally for project support and commissioning
