Controls Technician
Location: Portage, IN
Pay: $40-45 hr plus overtime
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7 am-3 pm and every other Saturday
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Controls Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems and automation processes. This role is essential in ensuring the seamless operation of our industrial systems and enhancing efficiency through effective process control and instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and configure control systems and hardware for various applications
- Develop and implement Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) for user interaction
- Monitor and troubleshoot SCADA systems to ensure optimal performance
- Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of control systems
- Perform electrical wiring and setup for automation projects
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design and improve instrumentation and control processes
- Provide technical support and training to staff on control systems and troubleshooting practices
- Maintain documentation of systems and updates to ensure compliance and operational standards
- Assist in the development and execution of project timelines and budgets
Qualifications
- 2+ years in a technician or troubleshooting control systems and industrial automation
- Strong knowledge of HMI development and SCADA systems
- Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques for electrical and control systems
- Experience in electrical wiring and instrumentation setup
- Understanding of process control principles and applications
- Knowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
