Core Banking Platform Engineer at People First Federal Credit Union
Job Description
Job Description
People First is looking for a Core Banking Platform Engineer to join the team!
This individual is responsible for the end-to-end configuration, data stewardship, and automation of the Corelation KeyStone platform—designing, building, and keeping reliable UI scripts and batch automations; implementing platform configurations; managing data hygiene, archival/purge, and reporting pipelines; and partnering with business owners to standardize processes and accelerate delivery. The role emphasizes secure, compliant handling of member data and high availability across production and HADR environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Corelation Platform Configuration & Administration
- Configure and keep KeyStone parameters, permissions, queues, and workflows that underpin member and back-office operations; coordinate vendor changes and apply release updates in a controlled manner.
- Implement and confirm platform changes across environments (dev/test/prod and DR/HADR) with strong regression and UAT practices; ensure parity with the HADR site and take part in DR tests.
UI Scripting (KeyStone Front-End)
- Design, develop, and support Corelation UI scripts to standardize procedures, reduce error rates, and streamline staff workflows using KeyScript (JavaScript/AJAX/ExtJS) and Corelation’s UI framework.
- Deliver user-facing UI experiences for common operations (e.g., certificate renewals, account/card maintenance, member 360 views), and measure improvements in time-to-complete and quality.
Batch Scripting (Back-End Automation)
- Engineer Batch Scripts (one-time scripts and batch streams) in Java using Corelation’s supported libraries; package artifacts as JARs and deploy via the Script table for automatic replication to HADR.
- Build resilient ETL-style batch jobs for nightly/periodic operations; implement logging, idempotency, and restart safety.
Integrations & Automation (OpCon, KeyBridge API)
- Develop and support automations in SMA OpCon (including self-service triggers) to orchestrate Corelation tasks and vendor workflows; collaborate with departments on new automation opportunities.
- Integrate with KeyBridge API for secure, scalable data operations and complementary services.
Data Management, Quality, and Lifecycle
- Own data governance routines: data quality rules, reconciliation, referential integrity across Corelation schemas, and operational reporting needs.
- Lead Corelation purge/archival initiatives to reduce storage footprint, improve backup/restore performance, and align with Corelation best practices and consulting guidance.
- Produce secure sample/masked data sets from Corelation (DB2) schemas for testing or analytics while supporting privacy controls.
Reporting & Analytics Enablement
- Build and support operational/ad-hoc reporting via Jaspersoft (SQL) and support downstream analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI), ensuring performant DB2 queries and governed data access.
Security, Compliance & Documentation
- Enforce data security standards and NCUA-aligned policies across scripts, integrations, and data pipelines; keep detailed technical and user documentation.
- Participate in audits and risk reviews; remediate findings and strengthen controls over time.
Benefits:
- Excellent medical, dental, and vision plans
- Health reimbursement account
- Flexible Spending and Dependent Care Accounts
- Group Term Life Insurance
- Short-Term and Long-Term Disability
- Paid time off
- 401k Plan with company match
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5+ years working with financial-services systems or core banking platforms; direct Corelation KeyStone experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated delivery of UI and Batch scripting solutions in production environments with measurable operational impact.
- Experience building OpCon jobs or similar schedulers and integrating with vendor systems.
- Corelation KeyStone platform administration and configuration, including release validation and vendor coordination.
- UI Scripting: JavaScript, AJAX, ExtJS within Corelation’s KeyScript/IDE; familiarity with the query language used in UI scripts.
- Batch Scripting: Java (OOP, packaging), Corelation batch libraries, JAR build/deploy lifecycle, and batch stream orchestration patterns.
- Automation/Workload Orchestration: SMA OpCon (schedules, dependencies, self-service).
- APIs/Integration: Corelation KeyBridge API fundamentals and secure integration patterns.
- Data & SQL: Strong DB2 SQL (joins, windowing, optimization), CSV export/import routines, and masking/anonymization methods; comfort with schema navigation and foreign keys.
- Reporting: Jaspersoft (report design, parameterization, scheduling).
- Resilience/DR: Understanding of Corelation HADR replication flows, DR cutover testing, and environment parity practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; clear written and verbal communication; strong documentation discipline.
