Expectations and Responsibilities

Customer Service:

• Make patrons feel welcome by greeting and treating them with warmth and kindness throughout their experience. Eye contact, smiles, and patience are key!
• Be present and engaged, ready to confidently answer questions, and talk about Birdie’s frozen yogurt flavors, toppings and candy offerings 
• Offer tastes of frozen yogurt flavors when needed—share insights and knowledge on flavor combos and favorite toppings to help guide their experience
• Work with accuracy and efficiency to keep things flowing smoothly
• The goal is that every customer walks out feeling satisfied and valued and is already planning their next visit

Operations & Cleanliness:

• Restock cups, spoons, napkins, yogurt, toppings, candy throughout the day, always rotating stock (FIFO) to ensure quality and freshness
• Receive, accept and inspect deliveries to ensure we are we received correct items orders
• Wipe counter and toppings surface areas regularly, as well as tables, benches, walls and floors regularly
• Pick up any debris, sweep inside and outside the shop regularly to keep a clean and inviting environment
• Wipe windows, display cases and front door so the space looks polished and impeccable 
• Clean frozen yogurt machines to training standard 
• Complete opening, midday, closing and weekly cleaning checklists with pride and care
• Maintain organization by consistently putting items back where they belong

• Be a supportive and reliable teamplayer, by arriving on time and ready to work each scheduled shift 

Job Requirements:

• 18 years or older to apply (or with working papers if under 18)
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to Operate POS System
• Ability to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs, bend, reach, navigate tight corners and stand for up to 8-10 hour shifts as part of the role’s physical requirement
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible availability (mornings, nights, holidays, weekends)
• NYC Food Protection Certificate is a plus
