The PantherDining Hall at Georgia State University is seeking to hire an experienced Courtyard Kitchen Grill Cook (Temp).

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
This position is responsible for preparing, cooking, and assembling grilled menu items.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Maintain portion control, food quality, and visual presentation standards.
Operate and maintain grill and related kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Ensure compliance with university and state health department food safety and sanitation regulations.
Accurately time and coordinate multiple orders to ensure prompt service through online and pickup systems.
Restock ingredients and supplies throughout the shift and assist with daily opening and closing procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Courtyard Kitchen, including proper food storage and labeling.
Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with staff.
Support team members and assist in other kitchen duties as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED and 1 year experience working in institutional quality cooking.
Preferred Requirements:
Previous experience as a grill cook or line cook in a restaurant, retail dining, or campus food service environment preferred.
Knowledge of safe food handling and kitchen sanitation procedures required.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and teamwork skills.
Dependable and punctual with consistent attendance.
Additional Preferred Requirements:
Able to Work: Monday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 7:45 p.m.
Requires standing for extended periods, exposure to heat, and operation of kitchen equipment.
Temporary, non-benefited position.
Ability to work in all temperature conditions.
Ability to focus on priority projects and tasks.
Effective time management and organizational skills.
