Siemens Energy NDE Project Engineer
SpecialtyServices product area is based at the Pittsburgh Service Center in MountPleasant, PA. Specialty Services isresponsible for performing non-destructive examination and specialtyinspections at Siemens and other OEM power plant sites globally, with a primaryfocus in the Americas.
RESPONSIBILITIESAND POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We have aneed for a skilled Full Time NDE Project Engineer. Our field NDE projectengineer plans the execution of nondestructive inspection services projects atpower plant sites across the globe, primarily in the Americas including theUnited States, Canada, Central and South America.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Provideengineering and supervisory support to the technicians’ that perform inspectionsof combustion turbines, steam turbines and generators, including balance ofplant equipment such as heat exchangers and piping at our customers’ powerplant.
- Travel(up to 20% annually for this position) to Combustion Turbine and Steam Turbinesites and develop, support or perform field NDE Inspections per Siemensrequirements.
- Supportcustomer power plant outage planning and production control to ensure thetimely delivery of tools, personnel and field inspection activities through theapplication of field service systems and procedures.
- Responsiblefor the development of new and continuous improvement of existing NDEapplications for use in the field
- Developdetailed procedures (may be operations, training, maintenance, qualificationtest, or inspection) for work on equipment and systems used in power plants.
- Stayahead of technology and new developments in NDE - investigate new NDEtechnologies and applications to solve maintenance problems.
- Bethe liaison with Siemens and Customer teams during the development of new NDEtechniques.
- Preparetraining materials and provide classroom and laboratory training to other NDEpersonnel.
REQUIRED EDUCATION ANDCERTIFICATIONS:
· BSEngineering Degree or equivalent technical training and experience.
REQUIREDSKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Interpersonalskills associated with a customer facing role.
- Computerskills with proficiency using Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office programs:Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellentoral and written communications skills; able to clearly and concisely express information(or data) to non-technical associates, peers, customers and management.
- Mustbe Self-Driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as workwell in groups.
- Verystrong attention to detail and the ability to deliver the highest quality workin a safe and efficient manner.
- Flexibilityto adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedulesand priorities for multiple projects or assignments.

- Mustbe able to pass extended background check for unescorted access to Nuclearpower facilities.
DESIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Certifiable in a minimum of 5 ASNT NDT Level IICertifications (UT, ET, MT, VT, PT, RT, etc.)
- Knowledgerelated to the inspection of turbine and generator components.
- Proficiencyin using CAD software.
- Projectmanagement experience is a plus.
- Experiencewith product and service development using Design for Six Sigma.
- Qualityassurance background.
