The Swing Shift Custodial Manager provides effective leadership, oversight and development to a night shift custodial services unit that is responsible for the regular care and cleaning of University residence halls. The hours for this position are Wednesday through Sunday from 4:00am-12:30pm. This position is an essential member of the Operation leadership team and will be required to respond to emergencies after hours or during times the University is closed. This position has been designated as essential personnel during inclement/hazardous weather and other emergencies.
Hours for this position are 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday
Primary duties
- Provide leadership through short term and long range planning for day-to-day cleaning and project cleaning.
 - Enters work orders to maintenance and reviews weekly status of work order.
 - Responsible for tracking and providing monthly reports identifying variables that impact the quality and quantity of work scheduled to be delivered by staff (attendance, emergency work, bathroom cleaning needing reschedule, etc.).
 - Responsible for the supervision of staff to include, employee development, training, progressive counseling and the EPMS Process.

- Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
 
- Valid Driver’s license required.

- Position requires a thorough knowledge of the custodial services business, with emphasis in safety practices as it pertains to relevant areas of employment.
 - Knowledge of business management practices, personnel management, planning problem solving and conflict resolution are essential.
 
Provide leadership through short term and long range planning for day-to-day cleaning and project cleaning. The planning will incorporate best in industry strategies (ISSA) to ensure efficiencies and effectiveness of deliverable services. Position is responsible to assist with summer and break planning. This will include implementation and execution of plan, oversight, and providing comprehensive written feedback to assist with improving the Department’s effectiveness.

Job Duty:Position is responsible for completing monthly inspection of supplies and equipment to verify condition and needs. Responsible to deliver annual equipment replacement needs to supervisor. Manages the successful delivery of contacted services for the area—-rags and mats service contracts.
