Custodian
Department:Campus Operations
Work Location:ALL SITES
Duties:Under supervision, the Custodian is responsible for a variety of cleaning and housekeeping tasks, following established work routines and schedules. The Custodian is dedicated to the learning college concepts by facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning by ensuring campus environment is clean. Essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Keeps building and assigned areas neat and clean at all times.
 - Sweeps classrooms daily, cleans corridors and stairwells each day and during the day when necessary; dust, polish, and rearrange furniture as needed.
 - Washes and disinfects washrooms, all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains.
 - Cleans chalkboards/whiteboards, erasers, and empties trash containers.
 - Washes windows, door glass, and door frames.
 - Wet mops floors, vacuums, and shampoos carpeted floors as required.
 - Maintains custodial closets in a neat and orderly condition.
 - Cleans buildings and various spaces on campus, including cadaver lab.
 - Waters and trims plants in common areas as required.
 - Performs set-ups for meetings/workshops when required (moving furniture and/or equipment, etc.).
 - Performs duties related to snow removal as required.
 - May assist with answering departmental phone calls.
 - Performs related duties as assigned.
 
High school or general education degree (GED) required and minimum of 0-3 months experience in related field. Please list any relevant experience on your resume/application materials.
Qualifications:In addition to above, To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to complete tasks, ability to read and comprehend instructions
 - Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
 - Basic math ability
 - Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to qualify as insurable by college liability insurance carrier.

Hours:General Hours
Monday- Friday
7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
$15.23-$16.30/hour - plus exceptional benefits
