Custodian (NYHELP Program)
Location: Utica, NY
Job Type: Full-Time, 12-Month
The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking Custodians in our Facilities and Operations Department. The Custodian position involves manual work calling for the efficient and economical performance of building cleaning and occasional minor maintenance tasks. Cleaning and maintenance tasks are performed according to a well-established routine. An incumbent may be responsible for the cleanliness and minor maintenance in a small school building or work under supervision of a higher ranking employee at a larger school. Supervision may be exercised over the work of cleaners or helpers. Incumbent performs related work as required.
Typical work activities:
Tuesday - Saturday, 5:30am - 2:00pm, Utica Campus
Monday - Friday, 5:30am - 2:00pm, Utica Campus
Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm, Rome Campus
Hours per week: 40
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Either:(A) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma;
OR
(B) One (1) year of experience in building cleaning or minor building maintenance activities or other work of a similar nature.
Note: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be prorated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.
