Salary: $21-$22/Hour

Do you have a background in clinic reception or direct customer service work and a passion for helping animals and their people? The Alaska SPCA seeks an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our nonprofit veterinary clinic.


About the Role

As a Veterinary CSR, you are the first and last point of contact for our clients. Youll handle a busy phone system, manage appointment scheduling, process payments, and support our veterinary team by ensuring every client interaction is accurate, efficient, and compassionate. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm and professional under pressure.


Responsibilities

  • Manage client communications by phone, email, and in-person with empathy and professionalism
  • Schedule and confirm appointments using practice management software (ezyVet experience a plus)
  • Collect and post payments accurately
  • Maintain client records and ensure all documentation is current and correct
  • Coordinate with veterinary staff to keep appointments on schedule and clients informed
  • Educate clients on clinic policies, procedures, and preventive care options


Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of customer service experience, preferably in a medical/clinical setting
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to type 30+ WPM with accuracy
  • Proficiency with computer systems, email, and multi-line phone systems
  • Must be available Fridays and Saturdays


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a veterinary or medical office (minimum 6 months)
  • High-volume scheduling and cash handling experience
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology and clinic operations
  • Understanding of animal welfare and spay/neuter procedures
