Database Administrator
Salem, OR-Remote
12 months+ Contract
Part-time (20 hours/week)
Description:
The client is in the implementation phase of the core application. The legacy application uses an on-prem Oracle database and client is working with a vendor to modernize this legacy application into a low-code application and is looking for experienced Database Administrator (DBA) staff to work part-time (fully remote; 20 hours/week; 5 days M-F; preferably 8:00 am - 12:00 pm PST time zone) to support Legacy Database/environments as well as modernized efforts.

Description:
The client is in the implementation phase of the core application. The legacy application uses an on-prem Oracle database and client is working with a vendor to modernize this legacy application into a low-code application and is looking for experienced Database Administrator (DBA) staff to work part-time (fully remote; 20 hours/week; 5 days M-F; preferably 8:00 am - 12:00 pm PST time zone) to support Legacy Database/environments as well as modernized efforts.
List of desired attributes of applicants
- Minimum of 9 years of experience as an Oracle Database administrator (DBA) managing, tuning on-prem Oracle databases (11g, 12c, or newer)
- Minimum of 9 years of experience in writing, optimizing and troubleshooting complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and modernization scripts to support conversion and application transition.
- Minimum of 9 years of experience managing and working with schemas, password management, security management, data mapping, tools ( e.g TOAD, SQL Developer), virtual machines, UNIX/AIX, Shell Scripting, CRON jobs
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with CI/CD pipelines
- Minimum of 5 years of experience designing, developing and maintaining data interfaces and flat file exchange processes for integrations with external partners.
- Experience working within Juvenile Justice or related domain and Applications hosted on Azure cloud is a plus.
- Experience in organizational skills, communication skills, and collaboration.
- Experience working within an agile methodology is a plus.
- Design, develop and execute scripts and processes.
- Understand, evaluate the impact and communicate on the changes that are needed for this project.
- Review, approve and implement views, PL/SQL procedures and functions.
- Participate at relevant team meetings such as technical, architecture, standup as needed.
- Learn and enforce data access controls in support of JJIS data access policies. Support the data access implementation.
- Evaluate, monitor, maintain and ensure security controls, user access management, auditing and adherence to security policies and standards.
- Ensure the current on-premises database still support and operational with the legacy application and modernized application, with both applications working in parallel.
- Maintain the JJIS database production, reports, test, development and other environments.
- Support the Developers, QA, Business Integration Team and vendor team in their work with the JJIS database, especially for the modernization project. Monitor and support existing data interfaces and assist with JJIS Helpdesk service tickets.
