Design Engineer III - Bridge Engineer at Wallace Montgomery

Job Location : Richmond Virginia Office - Richmond, VA Description Wallace Montgomery is seeking an experienced Bridge Engineer to join our Richmond or Fairfax, Virginia office. In this role, you will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team developing structure and bridge construction documents for transportation related projects in Virginia, with a focus on Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and other local municipalities. Essential Functions: Prepare structure and bridge design calculations, plans, and estimates for bridge and highway structure projects, including new designs, rehabilitations, and replacements. Assist with and/or lead NBIS-compliant Bridge Safety Inspections. Conduct and review structural modeling and analysis using MicroStation, OpenBridge, Mathcad, Brass, AASHTOWare Bridge Rating (BrR), MDX, or individual LEAP products (Steel, Concrete, and RCPier). Collaborate with roadway, drainage, geotechnical, traffic, and environmental staff to deliver integrated project solutions. Support the development of construction documents and specifications. Mentor junior engineers and provide quality control/assurance efforts. Qualifications Bachelor of Science Degree Required Professional Engineer License 5-7 years' experience preferred Employment Type: Full Time
