Desktop Support Technician (on-site) at ALTA IT Services

Desktop Support Technician, MacOS, Windows Contract to Hire $45 to $50/hr. range W2 during the contract period On-site 5 days per week, Baltimore, MD Hours: 8 am-5 pm ALTA IT Services is staffing a contract-to-hire position for a Desktop Support Technician on behalf of a respected scientific institute based in downtown Baltimore, MD. This is an on-site position, 5 days per week. Skills: Configure and deploy computers using tools such as Jamf Pro, MECM, and Ansible. Provide technical support to staff and partners both in-person and, telephone, and through other collaboration tools. Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair computers, peripherals, printers, VOIP phones, software, and other equipment. Assist with office moves for new and existing employees. Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of A/V equipment and conference rooms, including resolving technical problems and assisting staff and partners with connecting to A/V systems. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 5+ years of work experience in a related field. Strong technical skills, including knowledge of hardware, software, and operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in an interrupt-driven environment. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to lift/move computer equipment up to 40 lbs.
