Detailer - Piping/Pipefitter
Position Overview
The Detailer - Piping/Pipefitter is responsible for creating detailed drawings and layouts for piping systems, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and specifications. This position plays a critical role in supporting project coordination and execution, working closely with engineers and project managers to deliver high-quality designs that meet project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed piping layouts and drawings using CAD software, primarily AutoCAD.
- Perform 3D modeling of piping systems to visualize and resolve potential conflicts.
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to ensure accurate design implementation.
- Conduct material takeoffs to estimate quantities and costs for project budgeting.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes related to plumbing and piping systems.
- Coordinate with project teams to support the timely execution of designs and prevent project delays.
- Review and revise designs based on feedback from engineers and project managers.
Qualifications
- Field experience as a pipefitter is preferred.
- Proven experience in mechanical design and piping detailing.
- Proficiency in Revit.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and interpretation.
- Knowledge of code compliance and industry standards.
- Ability to perform material takeoffs accurately.
- Excellent project coordination and communication skills.
