Die Coating Technician at Toyota Motor Manufacturing

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Die Coating Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for applying specialized coatings to production dies using a spray gun or similar equipment to ensure optimal part quality, durability, and performance. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in precision spray applications, such as die coating, auto body painting, or custom surface finishing.

Working hours are Monday – Thursday 8 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply die coatings to production tooling using manual or automated spray systems
• Prepare and maintain coating equipment, including spray guns, booths, and ventilation systems
• Mix and prepare coating materials according to specifications
• Inspect dies before and after coating for cleanliness, coverage, and coating integrity
• Monitor coating thickness and finish quality to meet production standards
• Maintain accurate records of materials, batch usage, and maintenance logs
• Support die repair and maintenance activities as needed
• Follow all safety, environmental, and quality procedures

Qualifications:

• Experience:
  • 1+ years in die coating, painting, or similar precision spray applications (automotive, industrial, or manufacturing environments preferred)

• Skills:
  • Proficiency with spray gun setup, operation, and maintenance
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and production specifications

• Physical Requirements:
  • Standing, bending, and lifting up to 35 lbs as part of daily work
  • Comfortable wearing appropriate PPE

• Preferred Background
  • Experience in automotive refinishing, custom painting, or coating repair work
  • Familiarity with die coating materials and surface preparation processes
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or tool-and-die environment
