Flatrock River Lodge is seeking a FT Certified Dietary Manager. Full time-Exempt Position. Long Term Care experience is required
Monday-Friday, and other hours as needed.
Flatrock River Lodge is a well-established, respected nursing home in Rushville, Indiana. Our interdisciplinary team (IDT) is focused on high customer service, quality improvement, and quality care. We’re seeking a full-time Certified Dietary Manager to join our team of exceptional and dedicated directors and caregivers. We are looking for individuals with a desire to contribute and make a difference in the lives of the community we serve.
About the Role:
The Certified Dietary Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Dietary Department in accordance with current federal and state, facility policies, standards of practice and financial plans.
This individual will work with Management team to develop and update Dietary Services' policies and procedures that reflect the philosophy and mission of the facility and accepted professional standards of nutrition and sanitation. This position will ensure that all duties performed by the dietary department comply with the standards established by the company's Quality Assurance Program.
This position will monitor staff members to ensure compliance with company, and state and federal regulatory workplace safety standards. Supervise and organize food preparation and service so that food leaves kitchen and is served to our residents in scheduled time frames. Provide for food substitutes of similar nutritional value for residents when necessary. Will work closely with nursing staff to identify possible problems and discuss complex issues concerning residents' nutritional requirements. Will lead and work with staff in improving procedures and quality of service.
Required Education and Experience:
- A qualified dietitian.
- A graduate or student enrolled in and within one (1) year from completing a division approved, minimum ninety (90) hour classroom instruction course that provides classroom instruction in food service supervision who has a minimum of one (1) year experience in some aspect of institutional food service management.
- A graduate of a dietetic technician program approved by the American Dietetic Association.
- A graduate of an accredited college or university with a degree in foods and nutrition or food administration.
- An individual with training and experience in food service supervision and management in a military service equivalent in content to the program in (2), (3), and (4)
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential or be eligible to test for the exam in the near future.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Two years of experience in institutional Food Service management.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of modern nutrition and food preparation, quantity cooking, buying, menu planning and food costs.
- Considerable knowledge of the applicable professional and governmental standards and regulations on institutional food service.
- Proof of valid Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

Flexible work schedule (mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, holidays, etc.) which may include hours beyond eight hours in a day, or 40 hours in a week.
