Our service includes Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics, Child and Family Services, a full continuum of Substance Use treatment and community supports, specialized crisis stabilization services and the 988 Lifeline. 


Job Description:


Position Overview: The Director of Communications & Community Partnerships at Horizon Healthcare Partners plays a critical role in driving the organization's mission by overseeing and coordinating activities related to communications and marketing, stakeholder engagement, community relations, and government relations and membership services. This role is instrumental in raising awareness, building relationships, and securing the necessary support to advance the organization's goals.


Responsibilities:


1. Communications and Marketing:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to promote the organization's services, programs and mission
  • Manage the organization's website, digital and social media presence, and content creation ensuring content is current, engaging, and aligned with branding and messaging guidelines
  • Collaborate  with external marketing and PR agencies, as needed, to amplify the organization's      message
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage and adapt strategies as necessary
  • Oversee digital and social media platforms, including content planning, creation, posting, and performance tracking
  • Design and produce marketing materials such as newsletters, press releases, annual reports, and promotional campaigns
  • Collaborate with external marketing, design, and public relations agencies to enhance outreach and visibility
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage, website analytics, and social media metrics to evaluate effectiveness and inform strategy adjustments
  • Ensure brand consistency across all communication channels and materials
  • Support internal communications initiatives to engage staff and stakeholders
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging marketing tools to continuously improve outreach efforts


Partner Support Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with partner organizations to understand their communication and outreach needs, providing strategic guidance and hands-on support
  • Develop co-branded marketing materials, templates, and toolkits to help partners effectively promote joint initiatives
  • Coordinate joint campaigns and events that highlight shared goals and amplify collective impact
  • Provide partners with communications training, resources, and messaging support to maintain consistency and alignment      with organizational values
  • Serve as the main point of contact for marketing-related inquiries from partners, ensuring timely responses and high-quality deliverables
  • Share data, stories, and success metrics that showcase the outcomes and value of partner collaborations
  • Facilitate regular communication among partner      organizations to exchange best practices, updates, and media opportunities

2. Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, member agencies, sponsors, board members, and partners
  • Collaborate with the HHP partner development teams to ensure alignment with fundraising efforts where applicable
  • Oversee HHP’s participation in the BHDDH sponsored Training Projects including assisting with the administration of all the trainings
  • Coordinate HHP’s robust internship program including supervising students and maintaining relationships with the universities and colleges
  • Develop and implement stakeholder communication strategies to promote collaboration, transparency, and shared goals
  • Facilitate  regular stakeholder meetings or advisory groups to gather input and feedback on HHP initiatives
  • Monitor and  evaluate stakeholder engagement activities to assess effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent and timely information sharing
  • Support relationship management with government agencies and advocacy groups to advance HHP’s mission and strategic priorities

3. Community Relations:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for community engagement initiatives
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, local businesses, and other relevant entities
  • Organize and participate in community events, fairs, and outreach programs
  • Promote a positive and enduring image of the organization within the local community
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration that align with the organization’s mission and values
  • Coordinate volunteer and employee engagement activities that support community goals
  • Monitor community trends, feedback, and public sentiment to inform engagement strategies
  • Represent the organization at public meetings, forums, and networking events
  • Prepare reports and presentations on community relations outcomes and program impact
  • Support crisis communication efforts by maintaining open, transparent relationships with community stakeholders
  • Collaborate with contractors, state agencies and HHP partner marketing and communications teams to ensure consistent messaging across all public-facing channels

4. Government Relations:

  • Assist with HHP’s legislative campaigns including advocacy at the State House, strategic      planning, organizing and mobilizing allies and constituents
  • Work productively with HHP Lobbyist 
  • Facilitate the development of HHP’s annual list of  Policy Priorities which identifies and defines the policy and advocacy objectives that best represent our members’ key interests
  • Stay informed about relevant government policies, regulations, and funding opportunities
  • Build relationships with government agencies, officials, and representatives at local, state, and federal levels
  • Advocate for policies and funding that support the organization's mission
  • Monitor and analyze proposed legislation, regulations, and public policy trends that may impact HHP’s operations and stakeholders
  • Draft policy briefs, position statements, testimony, and other advocacy materials
  • Coordinate meetings, briefings, and events with policymakers, coalitions, and advocacy partners
  • Represent the organization in coalitions, policy working groups, and public forums
  • Develop and implement advocacy strategies in collaboration with internal teams and external partners
  • Prepare regular reports and updates on legislative and regulatory activities for leadership and the board
  • Maintain records of government interactions and compliance with lobbying or reporting requirements
  • Support the development of grassroots advocacy campaigns to engage supporters and constituents
  • Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships or collaborations with other organizations to advance shared policy goals


  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field Master's degree preferred
  • Proven experience in media and marketing, community relations, stakeholder engagement, or government relations in the non-profit sector
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and to lead and manage staff
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for marketing and communications
  • Knowledge of behavioral health services and the non-profit sector
  • Proficiency with digital marketing tools, content management systems, email marketing platforms, and social media management tools
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with attention to detail
  • Creativity, strategic thinking, and a passion for advancing the organization’s mission
