Position Summary

DESCRIPTION:
Maintain the college operated store profitably with emphasis on quality customer service & a positive image to all customers to drive revenue growth. Duties include HR & staff development of a staff of 3 full-time, 2 part-time employees & work study students. Responsible for all financial reporting, budgeting, management, planning, buying & development of store merchandising, programs and policies.

OUTCOME:
College Spartan Store provides customer service, financial profit, campus support, academic materials & outreach into the college community.

Essential Functions

  • Financial reporting, budgeting, management, HR, inventory control, & driving revenue growth. 20%
  • Management of buying, merchandising & inventory control to achieve budget planning. 20%
  • Leader of staff development through training, mentoring & assessment while overseeing merchandising of clothing & gift areas. 15%
  • Customer service guidelines & standards implemented. 15%
  • Develop store policies, procedures and implement programs 15%
  • Connected to market trends, new developments in Academic Community/communications for the store/ website & delivery of service levels that meet Senior Administration’s direction. 15%
  • Experience and Education Required

  • A minimum of 5 years management/marketing or College Store experience at a management level.
  • Retail experience with knowledge of customer service, marketing, accounting, and management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • POS system & website management.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to supervise & delegate
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to set priorities
  • Management of all fiscal responsibilities
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to a changing retail environment
