Position Title: Director of Supply Chain
Location: On-site - Temple, TX
Salary Range: $135K - $150K (DOE)
Position Summary:
The role of Director of Supply Chain will oversee the entire supply chain process, including purchasing, inventory management, logistics, and distribution within a manufacturing organization.
The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing setting with experience managing steel, casting, or forging supply chains for both domestic and overseas suppliers. In addition, a strong background utilizing Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing in a leadership role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a high-performing supply chain team.
- Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with business goals.
- Lead sourcing and procurement strategies.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels to balance working capital and service levels.
- Manage transportation, warehousing, and distribution strategies to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Optimize logistics networks and transportation costs.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
- Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers
- Negotiate contracts to reduce costs and improve quality.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
- Oversee demand forecasting, inventory planning, and material requirements planning (MRP).
- Ensure supply chain processes comply with legal, regulatory, and sustainability requirements.
- Develop risk management strategies to mitigate disruptions.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of experience in supply chain management with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Certification in supply chain management (APICS, Six Sigma) is a plus.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong understanding of ERP systems, QMS, and ISO 9001 standards
