Description:Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Marketing and Communications, the Director of Ticket Sales and Operations oversees all aspects of ticket sales, including group, suite, individual, and season tickets. This role focuses on achieving sales goals, managing renewal and new sales initiatives—especially for Basketball—and driving individual game sales through outreach, promotions, and special offers. The Director also assists with game-day activities related to sales, such as clinics, receptions, and special events, and ensures compliance with University policies. All staff members are responsible for the policy, procedures, and guidelines of Hofstra University and the job requirements specific to the assignments inherent to athletic administration. This position requires working weekends and holidays and attending athletic events as appropriate.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Creates and implements ticket office policies and procedures following university and NCAA audit guidelines and New York law. These procedures include setting season tickets and single game prices, administering comp ticket programs, reconciling game day events, depositing ticket revenue, and building stadium and facility manifest.
- Administers and maintains detailed financial reporting for ticket sales and income for the Hofstra Athletics ticket office. This includes designing and implementing reporting standards and establishing employee guidelines for accountability of funds.
- Supervises and trains ticket office outbound sales staff to secure high level sales while also providing great customer experience.
- Meets with outbound sales team and team members individually to help them meet and exceed their goals and development. This includes all policies and procedures regarding public relations, operational goals, accounting standards, and computer operation.
- Responsible for meeting and exceeding their own new sales goals to include sales of premium seating as well as season tickets.
- Provides sales and revenue reports to the Associate Director of Athletics for External Affairs when necessary.
- Communicates with the Conference or visiting institutions on ticket distributions for any regular season CAA contest or post season events that Hofstra hosts or have Hofstra athletic teams competing in.
- Responsible for the knowledge of and adherence to NCAA rules and regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Minimum 1-3 years of related experience in athletics ticketing.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Must be motivated, sales driven and detail oriented.
- Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Knowledge of AudienceView’s Ticketing System is a plus.
