Salary: $120,000 - $160,000 per year
As a family-owned and operated Public Works Contractor with over 25 years of experience building across Northern California, we've established ourselves as a leader in design-build and lease-back projects for schools and universities, including Monterey Peninsula Unified School District, Berryessa Union School District, Pleasanton Unified School District, San Leandro Unified School District, and San Rafael Elementary School District.
We are seeking a seasoned Superintendent to lead the field operations for educational construction projects in the local area. In this role, you will manage day-to-day site activities, coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. You will act as the primary on-site liaison, working closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to maintain high standards of quality and communication. Job Details
We are seeking a seasoned Superintendent to lead the field operations for educational construction projects in the local area. In this role, you will manage day-to-day site activities, coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. You will act as the primary on-site liaison, working closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to maintain high standards of quality and communication. Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct all on-site construction operations to meet schedule, safety, and quality objectives
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless workflow
- Manage daily project logistics, including labor allocation, material delivery, and equipment management
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and contract requirements
- Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to resolve field issues and maintain open communication
- Enforce quality control standards and conduct regular site inspections
- Prepare daily reports, track progress, and document site activities and incidents
- Facilitate effective problem-solving and decision-making on the job site
- Lead project closeout activities, including punch lists and final inspections
Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience as a Superintendent or similar role on educational construction projects (DSA/K-12)
- Proven track record managing field operations for multi-million-dollar construction projects in the public or private education sector
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, safety standards, and quality control
