Position Overview
We are seeking an Electrical & Controls Designer to join our team. This role is ideal for a self-motivated, organized, and results-driven individual who enjoys solving complex challenges and delivering high-quality solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical and controls design, control panel layout, instrumentation, and CAD drafting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for industrial applications
- Create control panel layouts, loop diagrams, ladder diagrams, one-line diagrams, and conduit routing
- Perform load calculations and develop intrinsic safety circuits
- Use CAD software (AutoCAD or ePlan) to produce accurate and detailed drawings
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and client specifications
- Prepare technical documentation, including specifications for electrical equipment and materials
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure successful project execution
- Participate in drawing reviews and peer review processes
Qualifications
- 3-8 years of experience in electrical and controls design or instrumentation
- Proficiency in control panel design and control system layout
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD or ePlan)
- Familiarity with drawing standards and documentation best practices
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards
- Degree in electronics, instrumentation, or controls is preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
