Job Description
The Electrician at Whitewater works in a small crew or alone to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment and facilities with a focus on electrical components, while enabling a high-quality guest experience. The Electrician is responsible for performing skilled electrical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in accordance with standard practice of the trade. This is a full-time, benefits eligible, on-site role that reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, inspect, and repair all electrical features of a public facility that operates year-round with high levels of traffic and extensive operating hours.
- Effectively manage a dynamic task list and an extensive preventative maintenance schedule with the ability to adapt and answer immediate needs as they arise.
- Assemble, install, test, maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures using a various amount of trade specific tools.
- Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at the country, state, and federal levels.
- Document information in preventive maintenance file on electrical equipment and machinery and monitor a preventive maintenance program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Licensed Electrician in the state of North Carolina
- Experience in commercial and industrial electrical work.
- Proficiency in working with a variety of basic/specialized hand and power tools.
- Basic knowledge of building equipment, building codes, and building systems.
- Ability to read and interpret documents with strong attention to detail – e.g., safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, hydraulic and electrical prints, and other manuals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Occasional travel to Whitewater Outpost locations.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during other Whitewater events as needed.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to safely self-transport over uneven terrain or in a confined space.
- Must be able to stand for sustained periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and move at least 50+ pounds.
- Must be able to reach, bend, and stoop frequently.
- Must be able to work at heights.
- Must be able to work outdoors for sustained periods of time under varying weather conditions.
- All positions at Whitewater require employees to report and work onsite at Whitewater locations.

Overview of Department
The Facilities Department is responsible for facility maintenance, water quality, construction, landscaping, and trail development. The department oversees inspections, repairs, maintenance, and safety of the Whitewater Center’s activities and infrastructure.
