POSITION: Electrician
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations
REQUIREMENTS: Completion of apprentice or vocational program or an equivalent combination of training and experience; minimum 5 to 10 years experience in commercial electrical maintenance and construction; and ability to climb ladders and high lifts, operate all power tools, test equipment, and lift to 50 lbs.; up to 100 lbs with assistance. Possess valid City of Pittsburgh Electricians License and have a thorough knowledge of all required codes and regulations.
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Perform all electrical functions, telecommunication and computer wiring, installation, and maintenance duties as required.
DUTIES:
- Perform maintenance and installation of new electrical systems and equipment.
- Responsible for the telecommunications systems to include installation and repair.
- Respond to student and staff work orders for any electrical or telecommunications equipment failure, malfunction, or safety hazard.
- Perform installation and relocation as it pertains to in-house projects.
- Troubleshoot all electrical systems.
- Perform basic Life safety fire panel operations.
- Perform preventive maintenance duties as assigned.
- Respond to all University emergencies.
- Assist other trades as required, including carpentry, maintenance, and engineering.
- Perform skilled tasks with little or no supervision.
- Perform other duties as required.
