We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This role involves managing electronic payment processes, reconciling financial transactions, and ensuring accuracy in reporting within the financial services industry. Responsibilities:
• Process and reconcile daily electronic payments, live checks, and organizational transactions with precision.
• Gather, verify, and compile debit payments from third-party vendors, ensuring all data is accurate.
• Reconcile loan disbursements to debit cards and validate transactions using appropriate software tools.
• Maintain detailed and organized Excel spreadsheets to track refunds, chargebacks, credits, and relevant fees.
• Prepare and import financial transaction data into the General Ledger on a daily and monthly basis.
• Generate monthly historical reports for debit card transactions and monitor merchant card declines.
• Verify and process setup forms for dealers while managing monthly ledger imports.
• Collaborate with the Cash Manager to enhance processes and ensure adherence to company policies.
• Provide backup support for various functions within the Cash Management Department as required.
• Exhibit reliability and punctuality in daily attendance.• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related financial role.
• Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
• Strong skills in billing functions and account reconciliation.
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles and practices.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking and reporting.
• Familiarity with financial transaction software and General Ledger systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
