Job Description

Electronics Technician I (Contract) Location: Lynchburg, VA Company: System One Start Date: As soon as possible Duration: 3–6 months (potential for extension) Hours: 40 hours per week About the Role System One is seeking a skilled Electronics Technician I to join our team in Lynchburg, VA. In this role, you’ll work under general supervision to construct, install, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic and electrical systems and components. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of electronic principles and hands-on experience in testing, repair, and assembly. This is a great opportunity to apply your technical skills in a dynamic environment supporting engineering and maintenance operations that may include work on nuclear power generation systems. Key Responsibilities Assist in troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of electrical and electronic equipment/systems Conduct functional and quality control testing to ensure performance meets design specifications Assemble and install electrical, electronic, and electromechanical controls and systems based on engineering designs and schematics Work with various system types, including audio, video, robotics, process control, PLC, ladder logic, and data acquisition Support engineering with circuit analysis, debugging, and performance evaluation Handle hazardous materials safely and in accordance with safety regulations Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment Occasional travel to nuclear power generation sites may be required Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum of 2 years of related experience Certificate of formal training or apprenticeship preferred Skills & Qualifications Basic knowledge of electronic circuit theory Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics Familiarity with electronic components, symbols, and test equipment Proficiency in all types of electronic soldering Strong problem-solving and communication skills Commitment to safety and quality standards Key Competencies Initiative, Teamwork, Dependability, Action Orientation, Learning Agility, Drive for Results, Problem Solving, Safety Awareness Physical Requirements Ability to remain stationary, walk, kneel, and crouch as needed Operate a computer and communicate across various organizational levels Occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
