Environmental & Real Estate Attorney at Direct Counsel

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience advising clients on environmental, land use, and real estate matters, with a strong command of Massachusetts environmental law and local permitting processes. This is a high-impact role offering exposure to complex regulatory and transactional work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise clients on land use, zoning, and environmental permitting under Massachusetts law.

• Counsel clients on environmental risks and liabilities in real estate and business transactions.

• Navigate complex local and state permitting and regulatory compliance matters.

• Provide strategic advice on environmental statutes, including RCRA and CERCLA, and handle agency enforcement actions.

• Support real estate transactions involving acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and development.

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in environmental and real estate law.

• Deep knowledge of Massachusetts environmental and land use regulations.

• Experience with RCRA, CERCLA, and agency enforcement actions preferred.

• Admission to the Massachusetts Bar required.

• Strong communication, drafting, and analytical skills.
