Cost Estimator
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join a dynamic team that works on high-profile and diverse projects. In this role, you'll analyze project specifications, develop accurate cost estimates, and assist in budget preparation to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Prepare estimates for construction projects by gathering information and calculating costs.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project scope and requirements.
- Conduct quantity takeoff and assess labor and material costs for accuracy.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing and terms.
- Maintain a well-organized database of cost estimates and budgets for future reference.
- Prepare and present cost estimation reports and narratives to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 2-7 years of experience in construction, architecture, or building systems.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe.
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial principles.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience with commercial, industrial, and healthcare projects is preferred.
- Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Familiarity with building system designs and architectural estimating.
