Event and Catering Director Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of event sales, service coordination, and management experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with members and employees.
• Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a demanding environment.
• Friendly, helpful, and courteous demeanor when dealing with members and colleagues.
• Good understanding of event sales systems and service.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, scheduling, and planning with keen attention to detail.

Event and Catering Director Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Handle all event inquiries and generate contracts for catering and special events.
• Meet with guests to create banquet event orders.
• Collaborate with the Chef and Food & Beverage Manager on special menus and events.
• Manage events and oversee the Banquet Captain and service team.
• Interact with guests to ensure excellent service throughout events.
• Explore and contact potential new sales sources to expand business opportunities.
• Coordinate and assist with the setup and delivery of assigned banquet events.
• Manage and control catering costs, taking corrective actions as necessary to meet budget goals.
• Attend management meetings to review policies, procedures, and upcoming business, continually enhancing the quality and image of banquet and catering functions.
