Job Description

Executive Chef – Junebug

Junebug is seeking a dynamic Executive Chef to lead its culinary program. Junebug opened its doors to the Warehouse District in March and has quickly gained fans in guests and critics alike. With an “upscale dive bar” vibe, playful twists on French bistro classics and Americana snacks that play well alongside the creative cocktail program, Junebug is a destination for casual gatherings, big nights out, and events big and small.

We’re looking for an experienced culinary leader who can bring the culinary vision to both diners and private events guests. This key role is at the heart of Junebug’s identity and growth, overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operation while collaborating closely with our management team to deliver outstanding dining and event experiences.

  • Manage kitchen operations, including menu development, costing, sourcing, inventory, and scheduling.
  • Direct, train, and inspire a team of kitchen professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and growth.
  • Oversee event menu execution, ensuring flawless food quality for upscale private events.
  • Partner with ownership, FOH leadership, and the bar team to create a seamless guest experience across all aspects of the restaurant and event offerings.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and compliance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven leadership experience as an Executive Chef or Chef de Cuisine in a high-volume, creative restaurant.
  • Strong background in event and banquet culinary execution.
  • A passion for New Orleans food culture and innovative approaches to familiar flavors.
  • Excellent management skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and retain a strong team.
  • Financial acumen, including knowledge of food costing, budgeting, and labor management.
  • A collaborative spirit and excitement to contribute to Junebug’s future.
