EXPEDITOR (EXPO)
Location: Woodland Hills, CA
Reports to: Executive Chef & General Manager

THE ROLE
Casaléna is seeking a sharp, organized, and service-minded Expeditor (Expo) to join our team. The Expo acts as the communication bridge between the kitchen and the front of house, ensuring that every dish is prepared, plated, and delivered accurately and efficiently.
This role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure while coordinating multiple moving parts. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and takes pride in upholding the highest standards of presentation and service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This role offers exposure to both culinary and service operations, providing a strong foundation for future growth within Casaléna. With consistent performance and leadership, the Expo position can progress into Lead Expo, Service Captain, or Assistant Manager, supporting daily operations and service coordination across multiple areas of the restaurant.
SALARY COMPENSATION
$20.00 – $22.00 per hour, based on experience and skill level.
This is a non-exempt, part-time position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Casaléna offers a competitive pay range reflective of individual qualifications and relevant experience. Compensation decisions are made with fairness and consistency, aligning with internal equity and industry standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate the flow of orders between the kitchen and service staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of dishes.
- Verify the accuracy, quality, and presentation of each plate before it leaves the kitchen.
- Communicate effectively with servers to manage pacing and ensure all items for a table are delivered together.
- Prioritize and organize incoming orders during peak service to maintain efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Relay special requests, dietary needs, or modifications accurately to the kitchen team.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo station throughout service.
- Support both kitchen and service teams in resolving issues quickly and professionally.
- Perform opening, mid-shift, and closing duties as assigned by management.
- Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation standards in accordance with company policy and local regulations.
- Stay Focused: Maintain accuracy and attention to detail during high-volume service.
- Communicate Clearly: Keep an open, calm line of communication between front and back of house.
- Work as a Team: Support colleagues and maintain professionalism, even under pressure.
- Be Organized: Keep tickets, plates, and garnishes in order for efficient service flow.
- Uphold Quality: Ensure every dish meets Casaléna’s standards for timing, presentation, and consistency.
- Demonstrate Professionalism: Represent the hospitality and integrity that define our guest experience.
- Previous experience as an Expeditor or similar role in a high-volume or fine-dining restaurant preferred.
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and plate presentation.
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Food Handler’s Certification and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification required.
- Familiarity with Toast or other POS systems preferred.
- Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to teamwork and professionalism.
