Position Summary::Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking a Facilities Services Technician III who will perform skilled maintenance, repair and construction of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and building structures. Responsibilities may include coordinating efforts with contractors; planning for supplies and equipment; installing, maintaining and repairing HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment; constructing walls, buildings, cabinets, bookcases or similar items; operating light equipment and performing preventive maintenance; and maintaining records of activities.
This position will be primarily on one of our Cabarrus County campuses (South campus in Concord, NC, with some flexibility to assist on our NCRC campus in Kannapolis and our CBTC campus in Concord)
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), and five (5) years of experience in facilities maintenance activities.
- Valid NC drivers license
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills::
Knowledge of: Applicable system maintenance, repair and installation principles and methods; Equipment operating and maintenance techniques; Construction and maintenance principles; Record-keeping principles; Safety procedures; Computers and related software applications.
Skill in: Building, repairing, and maintaining facility structures; Identifying and repairing/replacing unsafe equipment; Maintaining records and logs; Using a computer and related software applications; Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with subordinates, coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

Duty and Responsibility::1. Maintains HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems which may include replacing equipment; checking pipes; repairing and replacing system parts; checking sensors and switches; checking voltage lines; monitoring belts, shafts, pulleys, and motors; operating light maintenance equipment; and/or performing related duties.
Duty and Responsibility::2. Repairs and maintains non-mechanical/electrical structures which includes replacing parts; repairing fixtures; moving and repairing furniture; and/or performing related duties.
Duty and Responsibility::3. Installs new equipment as necessary.
Duty and Responsibility::4. Inspects systems, equipment, and/or structures for safety hazards and functionality.
Duty and Responsibility::5. Prepares and monitors logs and operational records.
Duty and Responsibility::6. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
