Job Description
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The instructor is responsible for fostering student learning through effectively teaching coursework in the area of areas of nursing and general health courses for the Nursing department. Required course load is 36 credit hours per academic year (fall, spring and summer semester). This position will involve days, evenings and/or weekends, with a varying schedule between classroom, simulation, lab, and clinic focused teaching. The faculty must develop, implement and evaluate instruction, and report and record student achievement in assigned courses in accordance with department, division and college policies and procedures. Teaching responsibilities include lecture, laboratory, simulation, and clinical practice settings. Responsibilities will also include mentoring and remediation of current students and providing assistance in development and implementation of departmental initiatives.
Teaching schedule will be assigned by the dean. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the instructor will be expected to contribute professional expertise through non-teaching activities to the department, program, and college. The instructor will be responsible for meeting the goals and objectives of an individual Professional Preparation Plan as outlined by the College's Quality Faculty Plan.
