Financial Restructuring Associate Attorney at Direct Counsel

This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated restructuring matters, including high-profile Chapter 11 cases, complex workouts, and transactions involving leading market participants.

As a Financial Restructuring Associate, you will:

• Represent creditors (including lenders, bondholders, and trade creditors), debtors, asset purchasers, and other stakeholders in large Chapter 11 cases and out-of-court workouts.

• Handle both transactional and litigation aspects of restructuring matters.

• Draft and negotiate complex agreements, pleadings, and restructuring documents.

• Provide strategic legal advice to clients navigating financial distress.

• Collaborate with colleagues across practice groups to deliver integrated client solutions.

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

• 4–6 years of financial restructuring/bankruptcy experience at a major law firm.

• Experience with large Chapter 11 cases is strongly preferred.

• Exposure to liability management or finance transactions is a plus.

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality work.

• Salary range: $310,000 – $390,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
