Avant Tech is seeking a seasoned Financial Services Associate Attorney to join our innovative and dynamic legal team. This role is pivotal for providing comprehensive legal counsel to our clients within the financial sector, focusing on compliance, transactions, and dispute resolution.

The ideal candidate will have a robust background in financial services law and a passion for navigating complex regulatory landscapes. You will be instrumental in advising financial institutions, including banks, credit unions, and investment firms on a variety of legal matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance on federal and state regulations affecting financial services, including banking, securities, and consumer protection laws.
  • Advise clients on blockchain and digital asset structuring, issuance, and compliance, including token sales, NFTs, and decentralized finance (DeFi) products.
  • Handle venture financings, including seed, Series A-C, and convertible note/SAFE rounds.
  • Support clients in fund formation, private placements, and capital raising strategies.
  • Counsel clients on payment systems, alternative lending, digital wallets, and embedded finance structures.
  • Navigate complex regulatory landscapes, including compliance with SEC, FinCEN, CFTC, and state-level regulations.
  • Respond to regulatory inquiries and enforcement actions; assist with internal investigations.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review a wide range of commercial agreements related to fintech products and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional legal teams across corporate, tax, IP, and litigation groups to provide holistic advice.
  • Draft and review complex financial agreements, transactions, and compliance policies.
  • Assist clients in meeting their legal obligations and navigating compliance challenges.
  • Engage in litigation and dispute resolution concerning financial services matters including regulatory actions and contractual disputes.
  • Research and analyze emerging legal trends and provide strategic recommendations to clients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive client solutions.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, with an excellent academic record.
  • 4-7 years of experience in financial services law, ideally with experience in regulatory compliance, transactions, and litigation.
  • Familiarity with U.S. regulatory regimes affecting digital finance (e.g., SEC, CFTC, FinCEN, OFAC, state money transmitter laws).
  • Active membership in the State Bar, in good standing.
  • Strong understanding of Banking, Securities, and Consumer Finance laws.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess complex legal issues and effectively communicate solutions to clients.
  • Exceptional analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative attitude.

Benefits

Salary Range: $295,000 – $405,000 (based on experience)
