About the Role:

The Flatwork/DryFold position is essential in ensuring the efficient processing and handling of laundered textiles within a commercial laundry or linen service environment. The primary goal of this role is to operate flatwork ironers and dry folding machines to produce neatly pressed and folded linens, such as sheets, tablecloths, and uniforms, meeting quality and presentation standards. This position requires attention to detail to identify and address any imperfections or damages in the textiles before and after processing. The role contributes significantly to maintaining workflow efficiency and customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and accurate completion of laundry orders. Additionally, the Flatwork/DryFold operator collaborates with team members to uphold safety protocols and maintain equipment in optimal working condition.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a laundry or textile processing environment is preferred but not required.
• Ability to operate industrial laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety standards and procedures.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle repetitive tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience specifically with flatwork ironers and dry folding machines.
• Familiarity with quality control processes in textile handling.
• Basic mechanical skills for minor equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Operate flatwork ironers and dry folding machines to press and fold linens according to company standards.
• Inspect textiles for stains, tears, or defects prior to processing and report any issues to supervisors.
• Sort and organize laundered items by type and destination to facilitate efficient distribution.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas and equipment to comply with health and safety regulations.
• Assist in routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets and quality benchmarks.
• Document completed work and report any discrepancies or equipment malfunctions promptly.
