                                                    Job Description
We're building safety-enhancing technology for aviation that will save lives. Automated aviation systems will enable a future where air transportation is safer, more convenient and fundamentally transformative to the way goods - and eventually people - move around the planet. We are a team of mission-driven engineers with experience across aerospace, robotics and self-driving cars working to make this future a reality.
As a Flight Control Law Engineering Intern at Reliable Robotics, you will work alongside a team of mission-driven engineers with experience across aviation, space, robotics and self-driving cars to support our autonomous flight systems. You will contribute to the design, implementation, integration, and test flight control laws for all phases of operation including autotaxi, auto-takeoff, autoland, and automatic rollout.
Responsibilities
- Design, analyze and implement ground and flight control laws for gate-to-gate aircraft operation
 - Develop and refine simulation models required for control system verification
 - Perform linear analysis of control laws to evaluate stability, robustness, and performance
 - Integrate and verify control system features in software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop test environments
 - Develop flight test plans and conduct post-test data review

Basic Success Criteria
- Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in an undergraduate program in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, robotics engineering, or similar field of study
 - A solid understanding of fundamentals -- engineering math, kinematics, dynamics, and classical control theory
 - Proficient in C++ and Python
 - Proactive and motivated to tackle hard problems
 - Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Success Criteria
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program in aerospace engineering, robotics engineering, electrical engineering, or similar advanced degree
 - Experience in one or more of the following areas: Aircraft modeling and dynamics, control theory, optimization
 - Experience developing software for safety critical applications
