Job Description:
The Occupational Therapy Department is seeking a Part-time MOT Faculty member to support the excellence in teaching and learning for our Hybrid and Bridge programs.
This is a part-time hybrid MOT Faculty position in the Master of Occupational Therapy Program, with teaching responsibilities assigned according to experience and practice knowledge. The faculty member will demonstrate the ability to creatively engage students in didactic and experiential learning opportunities and collaborate with faculty members to implement, modify, and regularly review the department curriculum.
This position is a nine-month (Fall and Spring semesters), non-tenure-year position, reporting directly to the MOT Program Director. This position will carry a course teaching load of 12 (twelve) credits with an annual course release of 3 (three) credits for administrative duties related to the weekend experiential classes. The person in this position will demonstrate the ability to creatively engage students in didactic and experiential learning opportunities in this hybrid environment. Additional teaching opportunities are available over the summer semester as an adjunct faculty member.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Courses will be assigned at the graduate level depending upon the candidate's experience and departmental needs.
- Specific weekends and occasional evenings are required, based on the schedules of the Hybrid and Bridge programs.
- Advise students in academic, fieldwork, and professional issues.
- Work collaboratively with the OT Program Director and other faculty members to assess program student learning outcomes.
- Participate in program and curriculum development as needed for assigned courses.
- Work collaboratively with the Program Director and other faculty to ensure the program meets accreditation standards.
- Engage in a process of formative and summative course evaluation to enhance the student learning experience.
- Engage in appropriate and relevant professional development.
- Maintain applicable professional licensure in Massachusetts.
- Adhere to HIPAA and FERPA privacy standards.
- Attend training as required.
Requirements:
- Certified occupational therapist eligible for OT license in the state of Massachusetts.
- A minimum of a master's degree is required; however, an earned doctoral degree in an OT-relevant field (Education EdD, Occupational Therapy OTD, PhD, DHSc, etc.) is preferred.
- Evidence of engagement in scholarly work.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with faculty, students, staff, and administration.
- Ability to use the University's resources, notably technology, to promote effective teaching and learning.
- Interest, initiative, and ability to work with the Program Director, Program Coordinator, department faculty, and administrators for program development, implementation, and outcomes assessment.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA and FERPA privacy standards.
- An ability to be passionate about Bay Path University's history, mission, and hallmark strengths.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must successfully pass the online safe Driving Course and driving record check at the time of hire and annually thereafter.
- Submit to and pass a criminal offender records check (C.O.R.I).
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and within FERPA and HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to adhere to University policies and procedures.
- Should have demonstrated ability to build working relationships with people having a wide variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences different from one's own.
- General knowledge of the University's mission, purpose, and goals, and the role this position plays in achieving those goals.
