Responsibilities:

  • Read winding sheet and mechanical drawings for winding instructions
  • Use traveler to identify materials and parts needed
  • Follow procedures to prepare mandrel for use in the winding process
  • Install mandrel on the winding machine using appropriate hand tools
  • Load foil and mylar spools onto machine using a lift and make any mechanical adjustments as necessary
  • Affix materials to the winding mandrel and check setup of the all the parts of machine is completed according to procedure
  • Wind product to correct number of turns, layers, and size, monitoring the machine while running to ensure proper quality of the finished winding
  • Remove the finished winding log from the machine and place on over cart and follow procedures to cure the log
  • Log all hours for each job in the MRP system
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned

Qualifications:

  • Two years of previous manufacturing production machinery experience preferred
  • Position requires standing for long periods of time, bending, stooping
  • Experience in soldering/ brazing is desired, but not required
  • May be required to pass medical exam to safely wear a respirator
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and, at times, move heavy objects (50 pounds or more) short distances (5 feet or less)
  • Ability to learn to read and understand winding sheets is required
  • Ability to learn and identify the level of quality expected in the wound product and identify when such quality is not being achieved
  • Knowledge of calipers and other precision tools to measure
  • Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in order to calculate quantities, measures, weights, etc.
  • Knowledge of standard hazards and safety precautions used in the manufacturing industry preferred
  • Must be able and willing to adhere to safety rules and use all required PPE
