The Food Runner is responsible for ensuring a seamless flow of service between the kitchen and the dining room. They assist the service team by delivering dishes accurately, promptly, and gracefully, while maintaining the high standards of hospitality and service excellence expected at The Mark.
Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to guests in a timely and precise manner
Ensure each plate matches the order ticket, is properly garnished, and presented to guests as intended by the chef
Assist servers by monitoring tables and anticipating guest needs, such as replenishing water or resetting tables between courses
Communicate effectively with the kitchen and service staff to coordinate course pacing and special requests
Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations and work areas
Support servers with polishing silverware, glassware, and preparing service items
Follow proper steps of service, etiquette, and team standards for guest interaction when assisting tables
Complete side work and additional tasks as directed by management
Uphold health, safety, and sanitation guidelines at all times
Minimum of one (1) year of restaurant experience; fine dining and high-volume experience strongly preferred
A genuine passion for food, beverage, and hospitality
Ability to work with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Polished, professional appearance and demeanor
Ability to take direction and execute tasks consistently
High standards for cleanliness and organization
Flexible schedule availability including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to perform essential job functions safely and successfully consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs; stand and walk for prolonged periods of time; and climb steps regularly
Ability to maneuver quickly through a fast-paced environment, bend, reach, and extend arms as needed
The base pay range for this position is minimum wage, with a tip credit taken when applicable. The determination of a specific employee’s pay within the range depends on factors including, but not limited to, prior employment history, job-related knowledge, qualifications, and skills.
